Wayne Rooney could leave Manchester United for Chinese Super League transfer this month

Manchester United could be ready to allow Wayne Rooney a surprise transfer to the Chinese Super League before the end of this month, according to reports.
The England international’s future has been in some doubt for much of this season, though many expected that he would see out the rest of the campaign at Old Trafford after failing to move in January.
However, the transfer window in China remains open until 28 February, meaning clubs are still weighing up the possibility of moving for Rooney in the next few days, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Jose Mourinho has not found space for Rooney in most games this season, with the goals drying up for the 31-year-old and a move into midfield not going as planned.

Rooney could earn a staggering £32million a year if he were to move to the Far East, with clubs such as Beijing Guoan and Guangzhou Evergrande reportedly his main admirers.
It remains to be seen, however, if United would consider letting their captain go at a time when they themselves would not be able to sign a replacement straight away.
