Manchester United legend Ferguson's verdict on Manchester City Pep Guardiola coup

The former Man Utd United boss opens up on the impact he thinks new Man City boss will have in the Premier League.

Sir Alex Ferguson says landing Pep Guardiola was “a real coup” for Manchester City … but warned he won't find it easy in the Premier League.
The former Manchester United boss has revealed in the past that he wanted the Catalan coach to replace him at Old Trafford, but Guardiola opted instead for a sabbatical from the game before heading to Bayern Munich.

But the Blues have tempted him away from the Bundesliga, and Ferguson believes that is a major plus for them.
“Without question Pep has got a fantastic work ethic about him, he demands that from all of his training sessions,” Ferguson said in an interview with Sky Sports.
“Anyone who thinks they're not going to work hard at City won't last long. He has got great coaching ability, there is no doubt about that.
“Man City have made a real coup in getting him but Pep won't find it easy, English football is not easy.
"Every foreign coach that has come to England will tell you that. Arsene Wenger was talking about that a few months after coming and even Jose Mourinho realised after his first season that what he achieved was hard work."
Ferguson cannot see anything but good coming from the appointment, after Guardiola takes over from Manuel Pellegrini in July.
But City fans expecting a replica of the Barcelona team which he took to three league titles and two Champions Leagues in four years, need to lower their expectations, says the ex-Reds boss.
“Pep will be a success but I don't think he'll ever replicate what he did at Barcelona because that was a high standard - they were the best,” he said.
And he backed the other top clubs in the Premier League to respond to the Blues' appointment, including this year's surprise package Leicester.
He did not rule out the Foxes following up their remarkable season by doing it all again next season.
